I am Certain of One Thing

The presidential election was not about selecting between Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. It is of far greater importance than who leads our country. Nothing either candidate can say will obscure the importance of selecting the Supreme Court Justices. I firmly believe that if an unfettered Hillary Clinton became president, she wouldl immediately make a sharp left turn and begin to appoint Supreme Court Justices who will follow her lead down the road to Socialism

Once she has a majority of Socialist justices on the court, she will continue Barack Obama's  policy of using Executive Orders to circumvent legislation by congress. As the court continues to rule on constitutional issues, the result will be the relegation of our constitution to a historical document with little relevance to today's issues. At that point all previous constitutional protections that have existed for our benefit will vanish. We will stand naked and afraid before a dictatorial socialist regime.

The wisdom of our forefathers during the founding of this nation was, and is, unparalleled in the history of the world. The constitution was forged from the pain of living under the rule of a tyrannical government. It has been the barrier between ordinary citizens and a government free to run amuck. The capacity of evil from governments knows no limits. From despotic Roman Emperors to the Spanish Inquisition, man has suffered unbelievable horrors, limited only by the cruel imaginations of those in power.

Then one day an idea was born. Why shouldn't man be free from tyranny? Who said he had to suffer just because someone else claimed sovereignty over him? After a bitter, and sometimes seemingly hopeless struggle, our nation was born. For the first time in the history of the world, man was afforded protection from his own government and those who would subvert it to their own purposes.

The heart of that protection is our constitution.  In their wisdom, the founding fathers provided us the right to amend this marvelous document to provide added protections. It also allows for the repeal of those amendments lest they turn out to be not in our best interests. It grants no power to government, only protections to its people. It is the single most important secular document ever created by man. It exists for the protection of all men. For that reason, it is hated by the power mad who are never satisfied to run their own lives, but are driven to run the lives of others.

On November 8, 2016, the American people made the most important decision in the history of the world. They decided that this nation shall continue to exist rather than relegated to the trash heap of despotic governments.  If we lose our constitutional protection, we lose our freedom. Without freedom we have nothing. Thomas Paine said it very clearly in 1776 when he penned a document called The Crisis, "... Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated..."

I close with a quote from another patriot, Patrick Henry. "There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us." Pray that our God does not abandon us in the years to come.
